Using First100

Connection help

Nearly every connection problem is one of 4 things: the key, the client, a social account that needs reconnecting, or a plan limit. Check them in order.

Is the key and client right?

Confirm your endpoint and bearer key match the setup guide. An answer of 401 means the key is missing, mistyped, revoked or replaced: every client that uses the old key needs the new one and a restart. Your client needs remote HTTP support or the local bridge.

Signed in through claude.ai, Claude Desktop or ChatGPT instead? Those connections show under API key in the dashboard, and revoking one there disconnects that client until you sign in again.

Do the tools not all show up?

Some clients limit how many tools they load. Cursor loads at most 40 across every MCP server you have, and https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp serves every First100 tool. Point the client at one of the domain endpoints instead; they use the same key and sign-in:

  • https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp/core: Brand memory, content planning, scheduling and publishing, the growth loop and reply radar.
  • https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp/seo: Site audit, Google Search Console, keyword research, rank tracking, AI visibility and answer engines, backlinks, competitor watch, comparison pages, internal links, directory presence, IndexNow, AI referrals.
  • https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp/autopilot: Blog research, review and publishing (GitHub, WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, hosted), and workflows that run on a schedule.
  • https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp/outreach: Local businesses, communities, buyer questions, journalist requests, cold email.
  • https://firsthundred.app/api/mcp/search: Every tool behind a small loaded set: the everyday tools plus search_tools (finds the right tool for a job) and call_tool (runs it). For clients that load few tools.

Does a social account need reconnecting?

A working First100 key and a working social connection are separate. If your agent says a social connection needs attention, open Accounts and reconnect it. Then ask your agent to check again before continuing.

Is the plan or the mailbox the problem?

Review your plan and usage in your account, or ask your agent to run get_account_status. A limit error names the limit that was reached and links to the upgrade. After a downgrade, brands beyond the new plan’s allowance are locked rather than deleted: tools refuse them and the dashboard shows a banner.

For email outreach, the mailbox is saved only after First100 logs in to it, so a wrong app password or host is reported when you save, not when you send. Google and Microsoft mailboxes need an app password.
